Tell us more...
"Having studied History of Art at the University of East Anglia I have always loved and admired artwork. I now am a full-time artist working in a garden studio but I also enjoy ‘social’ painting and paint with several different groups (outside when possible)."
And what about the artwork?
"I began painting by exploring decorative paint effects on furniture and developed this further by pursuing different courses and have recently finished an art diploma at West Dean on the South Downs, specialising in drawing and painting. At the moment I am experimenting with palette knife painting. I am currently building up a collection of work to sell at the Hampshire Open Studios in August."
What inspires Lucy?
"I am an avid fan of Matisse and the Colourists and also admire the work of Cezanne and Hockney. As a keen sailor I am frequently out on the water and am fascinated by the shapes formed by boats, waves, shifting tides and changes of light."
Let's finish with an interesting fact!
"I have a personal goal to do a daily painting, which is challenging but focuses the mind and develops your skills in a great way! I also create a new design each year for a local charity event with the aim of conveying a feeling of movement."
