Orange county based Maleri Art is made up of three ultra-talented sisters who use art to escape from their jobs in the healthcare industry and we’re very glad they do! They create a mixture of pieces including the most beautiful resin seascapes of turquoise beauty. Their experimental style means their work is always developing. They are open to commissions so if you fancy one of these on your wall you can even send them the measurements you’d like and it designed, created and shipped to you!
Where are you from? We are from the United States, specifically Orange County, California
What's your main medium? Mostly acrylic paints, resin, and alcohol ink
What's your main price range? Smaller ocean pieces for starting at $25+ (that’s just under £20 for original artwork!)
Tell us more...
“We are MaleriArt by the Wek sisters. We are three sisters all in health care professions that love to do art on the side. We all took art classes as kids, but actually have no formal training in the type of work we do now. We have learned these new techniques through trial and error and have loved seeing our work progress. We do all of our work from a home office, but one day would love to expand to have our own studio!”
And what about the artwork?
“We started doing this art just to have a little fun break from working and schooling. We hope to exhibit our work in some upcoming festivals and continue to share our work with others! Each piece we create is 100% original!"
What inspires you?
“We draw most of our inspiration from the beaches of Southern Orange County (Laguna Beach and Dana Point) which is where we have grown up our whole lives. We attempt to recreate the magic of the ocean in our works.”
Let's finish with an interesting fact!
“Stemming from our Norwegian heritage, we picked the name MaleriArt because Maleri is Norwegian for ‘painting’!"
Thanks for taking some time to check out our art; we love nothing more than sharing our work with others!
